3/4" OD tubing into 5/8" Compressions?

Hello, I am planning on changing my tubing from clear to red. However, the red tubing I am going to purchase is 3/4" OD. The compressions I currently have are made for 5/8". I do feel, however, that I could squeeze the tubing into the compressions, after all, it'd be rather tight. I just want to know if it'd be worth the time at least trying before I go and spend whatever amount of money on new barbs or compressions. Thanks in advance.

You could try it but I doubt the tube would fit into the compression ring due to the 1/8" difference.

Yeah, well naturally. I have high hopes though as the compression rings slide up and down the current tubes with ease, we'll see. I just don't want a 20 dollar investments (10 feet of tubing) to turn into a 70 (8 straight barbs, 4 right angle) plus hose clamps... worth a shot I suppose.
