24 pin Woes

Thread Starter
So my computer has recently been shutting off, complete loss of power. It happened so infrequently at first I didn't mind and it would usually turn on if I just pressed the power button. Then I noticed it would happen when I was tapping my foot to music (Chronic drumming ). If I tapped the top of my case, it would turn back on. Loose wire, so I did some poking around and found that the green wire on my 24 pin is loose. So loose, that the tiniest vibrations loosen it and it kills the computer.

It's probably loose because I have the wires bent pretty tightly for cable management. I let some slack on them but it's still loose. Anything I can do to fix it? I was thinking of getting it positioned right then using a dab of hot glue but that wouldn't look very nice. Not to mention it's hard to get it positioned right in the forest of wires on the 24pin.

Try closing it up a little with a needle or needlenose pliers.

There are little barbs on the inside of the connector that secures the wire into the connector. If the wire wont stay inside the connector use a little needle to get inside and bend the barbs back out to get the wire to stay.
