What should I choose?

Thread Starter
Moneys tight, but I need a little extra oomf for the games coming q3/q4.

Do I add another 6850 for £130 (xfx black) or stump up an extra £30 for the 6870 black? Is there any performance advantages at all in a 6850 + 6870 setup over a 6850 x2 setup?

1 more thing. I'm fitting a corsair hx850 in the morning would this supply be enough for either of those cf-x configs if I start oc'ing em?

Cheers guys.

You cant Xfire 6850 + 6870. Go for two 6850's.

Thanks for the reply.

2 of those be enough for a good performance from battlefield 3 - in your opinion (I know its conjecture till specs are announced)?

If you CF a 6850 with a 6870 the 6870 would just act as a 6850.

Either get another 6850 or wait for 7k series, which will probably be released this year.

Going by this:

I believe it should be more than enough.

Thanks to all for your answers. 6580 x 2 it is then.

To be honest, I've had no bother with just 1 6850 so far - but those battlefield 3 vids do scare the crap outta me hardware wise.

I would sell the 6850 and put that money plus the money you would spend on a 2nd card towards a 6970.
