MSI 5770

Any other suggestions? I could go up about $20 in price, but this is the best deal I could find atm.

The 5770 is a formidable mid-range graphics card. At 1920x1080, you won't be able to max out the anti-aliasing or increase the high-resolution textures as well, but it can certainly handle quite a bit. I owned for about a year until I bought my 6870. It overclocked very well and met my needs. I even ran it in Eyefinity with three 17" 1280x1024 monitors XD.

That's kinda meh. Get an open box ASUS GTX 460 768MB instead. It's only $125 inc. shipping and is 15% faster at 1920x1200.

Or you could spend $10 more than what you planned on with the MSI 5770 and get a Radeon HD 5850 instead. It's 45% faster at 1920x1200 than the 5770.

None of those are worth it. The Radeon HD 5850 is only $5 more and nets you 45% higher performance.

hd 5770 is not priced very well right now. You should get the hd 5830 at tigerdirect for $99 after MIR with 2 free games. Linky: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=6488509

edit: Mind you, XFX is VERY VERY good at mail-in rebates. I got both of my rebates for my gfx cards in less than a month. and they are checks so you can cash it in any banks.

5850 looks nice but doesn't come with a rebate. The 5830 for $40 less seems like a better deal no?

Little out of my price range (like the 5850) but what do you think of this card.
