Some Cold Cathode Questions...!!!

Thread Starter
Hi there OCN.
i was wondering if you could help me with a few advice on the cold cathodes i just bought..Today i received my Sharkoon 30cm dual inverter cathodes in UV colour..so to get things straight..
-my UV cathodes are not bright at all..i mean it makes all UV reactive glow as well as white surfaces but i thought it was gonna be a little bright and light up my case...but its not..Is it supposed to?
-i have some blue UV power supply connectors that are really nice and i want them to glow..to do this with best results where shall i place them so that the light will affect the whole case? even in corners cause some of my fans are also UV reactive..?? Im thinking to place them one horizonticaly in the outer top corner and one horizonticaly on the inner top corner..will this be an overkill and just place it in the inner top and place the other one verticaly on another spot?

When I used cold cathodes they weren't too bright, but bright enough that two of them illuminated the entire case.

I put one on the roof of the case, and the other on the bottom of the case.

I use to have CC tubes. Never had UV one though. They were super bright for about a month or so and then they got noticeably dimmer. I would get UV LED's cause you can custom wire them where you need them and the don't "burn out".

UV don't light up much. They make things glow.

^^This. If you want your case to illuminate use something other than UV lights. Ultra violet lights work mostly beyond your normal visual range. Hence the ultra violet.

As for lighting up your power supply connectors maybe strap a cathode vertically to the drive rack with a zip tie. That should place it right next to the MB connector. I'd place the second light along the bottom of the case so it shines up on your motherboard.
