data caps are going to kill me - Page 5

The day Comcast calls me is the day I tell them to either shut the hell up and never call me again, or I'll switch to Verizon. And then the day they either call me for a 2nd time or do something to my connection, I'll tell them to shove it and switch

anyone notice the quicker the speed the quicker they rip the money of it. Check the data usage especially if your using a 3g modem or a fast connection. How much of that data is yours and how much of it is your network which you pay for. 3g the pings are bigger and they rip you off big time

I went about 100gb over their cap a few months back and they never called me, they just tacked like $50 onto my regular bill. I really did it big that month.

Still have the bill somewhere around here. My lady ended up calling them (Comcast) and threw a fit on the phone about the overage charges.

Ended up paying, Comcast wouldn't budge. Didn't want to cancel because they offer the best internet in this area.

If you look in this networking forum, I put up a thread a few days ago about comcast reporting I had used 292, when my router reported 255. Either way, I have yet to see comcast charge extra per GB, and according to them, I used 350 a couple months ago. I haven't seen anything in their TOS that says they charge for overages. I would contest that unless they can show you the TOS lines where they can charge, because I haven't seen it.

That must be new; I've never heard of it happening before.

There are occasional days where I can download nearly that much in a single day. I'd suggest looking into Comcast Business if it gets to be a regular thing.

Thats still cheap. We pay triple that for a so called uncapped throttled more than anything data plan. When I use my nokia on 3G Its a race between the battery life and the credits going out. Both survive a hour if im lucky

I pay 50$ for 40gb (@ 46 KB/s) and get cut off if I go over. Amerika ist wunderbar.
AMD, I give up.
