Would you buy an open box gpu off newegg?

Not sure if the risk is worth the low price, if it craps out after 30 days you're screwed...input anyone?

Yes. Have heard nothing but good stories about both Open Box and Recertified GPUs. My GTX 465 is recertified, and I have had no complaints

Well i guess the thing i'd be most afraid of when having an open box, is it failing due to user error( too high voltage or OC)

no! my friend bought an open box MoBo and it was DOA. not worth the risk TBH

depends on the deal, but generally I would. Newegg support is great, and if an issue should arise, they are swift and fair in all RMA's. All parts are tested for functionality and if a defect that prevents the operation of the card should arise, you have thirty days to return it for a refund.

Beyond those 30 days though, you are stuck with it.
