[Xbit] Intel's Next-Generation Eight-Core Sandy Bridge E Processor Hits Ebay. - Page 3

Intel released some detail about their high end Sandy Bridge E CPU and its supposed to have 6core with 15mb cache ... but this chip has 20mb cache and his an octocore =| ***?
I will be very impressed if Intel has desktop 8 core SB-E processors on 32 nm with a TDP of 130W and clock speeds of around 3.5 GHz. The 990X, 980X, and 970 are all on 32 nm and all at 130W. I thought 8 core would come with Ivy due to the die shrink.

Probably a Xeon, that would explain the low frequency and the rumor of there being no 8core SB desktop chips this year.

Definitely a Xeon, 20MB of L3 cache, 8 cores.

The desktops are only supposed to have 15MB L3 cache and 6 cores.

So very likely its a Xeon chip. But Intel have used 1.6GHz for a few of their ES chips over the years. So just beacuse its at 1.6GHz doesn't mean its a Xeon. The amount of cache and 2 extra cores would indicate that
