Noob @ water cooling GTX 580 Questions

Thread Starter
Title of thread says it all.

I've got a EVGA GTX 580 SC looking water cool.

1. Does the water cooling make that much of a difference on performance on a clock settings I can have 24/7? What kind of FPS difference?

I'm not so interested in benching, just a greater performance than I run on air 24/7.

2. Does running the card with a huge over clock shorten the life span of the card?

3. Does putting the card on blocks void the EVGA limited lifetime AR warranty?

4. What are the risks if I mess up or make a noob mistake?

5. Is there a lot of maintenance to keep a water cooled GPU?

6. What is a good water cooling unit you might suggest?

7. If I'm over whelmed by doing it myself (scarred) is there any place that a tech can install it?

8. What kind of space is required in my mid-tower and where does the equipment added go inside / outside my case?

9. Is it that much quieter to run water cooling as opposed to the reference card I currently have?

10. What water cooling unit should I purchase and how much am I looking into doing this?

I've read Koolance VID-NX580 or EKWB EK-FC580 are one of the better water cooling units to put my GPU under water with.

Please go easy on me. I'm a noob at this. I'd google this myself but OCN is a great source of insider info from people much more qualified to answer these than what I might randomly find or try learning on my own. At least this will point me in the right direction.

1. Does the water cooling make that much of a difference on performance on a clock settings I can have 24/7? What kind of FPS difference?

Better performance if you oc

2. Does running the card with a huge over clock shorten the life span of the card?
The cards come with lifetime warranty don't they?
So?

3. Does putting the card on blocks void the EVGA limited lifetime AR warranty?

Hell no

4. What are the risks if I mess up or make a noob mistake?
Damage your system to a point of rma everything

5. Is there a lot of maintenance to keep a water cooled GPU?

Just drain the coolant every 6-8 months

6. What is a good water cooling unit you might suggest?

None but for a noob like you a corsair h70 for CPU only

7. If I'm over whelmed by doing it myself (scarred) is there any place that a tech can install it?

No
8. What kind of space is required in my mid-tower and where does the equipment added go inside / outside my case?

Mid tower? Depends what kind and how much space. I prefer everything inside, that what she said

9. Is it that much quieter to run water cooling as opposed to the reference card I currently have?

Hell yes

10. What water cooling unit should I purchase and how much am I looking into doing this?

There are no units, you need to buy the following:
Xspc radiator 360 that holds 3x 120 mm fans
CPU block based on your CPU. 1366 or 1166 or whatever the crap amd takes.
Gpu block for your video card
Switch pump MVP 655
1/2" bits power fittings
1/2" tubing
Reservoir to hold your coolant

Hope this helps
