for 24/7 I would just go with something like 2x 1kW or 2x 1.2kW's ...and split the load a bit..

I would not advise ever running more than 3x high-end GPU's + CPU that are OC'd off of 1x PSU..regardless of output capability. Most of the time you see folks bench 3-4way SLI/Xfire with at least 2-3x PSU's... which I would consider folding like a "continuous benchmark" ...so plan accordingly.

After looking over the antec wow.. I would not like that thing, the plastic caps on the sleeves is too much, and are they chokes or capacitors?? wth....

Get this

Why?; Efficiency >90% BAM FTW.
johnny didnt think the antec was too bad

So a gpu can pull 75w from the slot and 150w per pci-e connector. Is this correct

Guideline is max 75W from the slot, 75W from a 6-pin, and 150W from a 8-pin. Most all GPUs will not pull more than the max you would get from adding those together, at least in stock conditions, under gaming loads. Also, more power tends to be pulled from the auxiliary power connectors rather than the slot.

For an example of a card violating the max, check some of the dual-GPU cards or the GTX 570:

i read the first page and then skimmed the next 3 but im running my rig off of a HCP-1200 with 4 gpus and its running fine (i think it was drawing 900-1000 watts?) so i think you would be pretty close but prob make it just fine. i wanted to get the 2wins for folding *Sigh* but they never came to stepup. *sigh*

thanks for the bump none the less lol

so maybe two 1000w units? but then I think I maybe at that point I might as well go full blown eyefinity and dual 590's, but im not sure if I have a budget for that lol
