Take 3, to remove the boot menu, you need to use the msconfig tool. You need to run it as administrator.

1). Click the windows button in the bottom left of the screen
2). Into the text box in the bottom left of the menu, type "msconfig" (without the quotes)
3). As you are typing, you should see an "msconfig" result jump up underneath programs.
4). Right click the result > Run as administrator
5). In the new window, click the "Boot" tab
6). Delete the operating system that is no longer a valid choice
7). Click OK
8). Reboot, menu is gone

i installed a fresh copy of 64bit windows 7 and now everytime i load up, it asks me to choose a system to boot into
BUT i only have one operating system installed.
how do i get rid of the boot screen and automatically load into windows 7?
I told you the option, it's in MS config. Seriously, did you not run it?

http://windows.fyicenter.com/994_Win...nfig_Tool.html

I just wanted an image, so you can see what it looks like. msconfig and the boot.ini tab in win7. Right there, you see that? You see the timeout box? 30sec? Seriously, if your not even going to follow my instructions to the key don't post.

READ READ READ READ READ READ READ READ READ. I'm hoping if I type read enough times you'll understand what it means to fully read a post.

[edit] Timeout = 0 = no time to display selection.

[edit2 for the BCD editor]
http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1

Google brought me there with the simple search of "bcd editor". There are many out there that can edit the BCD for win nt 6.1 (7/vista). You can then force it to only boot off one and I'm assuming there is a thing to disable system selection. I don't care to go into windows and find out how because I don't hold people's hands.

the sad thing is i dont know if he was able to or not. trying not to be mean or anything to him at the time but maybe i was thinking he didnt understand all the technical stuff so i tried to make it as easy as possible to understand. so he could get done what he wanted as simple as possible. whats even more sad is that you do have to hold his hand but nobody wants do do that so like i said before gave the easiest way possible to get done what he wanted.

no offense to you rawrjaay but i was starting to think you didnt understand computers when you had a x86 version of windows running with 4gb of ram
nor could you figure out anybody was saying and i had to explain the super easy way to you more than once sorry dude.

You might be right, though it's not just him. Though honestly he opened msconfig and changed the 30sec timer to 3 sec.... It's default to 30sec and his screenshot shows 3, which makes me wonder.... I guess it just seems like if you want to play around with anything like installing an OS you should have the brains to understand something like that.
