BSOD problems with OCing GA P35 DS3L

Thread Starter
I've read this link about how to OC on my motherboard. But I have a few questions, mostly if I have anything that is limiting me to only 3.0GHz (9x333) which is the only stable speed i can get.

Here's my exact specs
Intel Q6700 @ 3.0GHz (9x333Mhz)
GTX 560 Ti - 1000/2000
CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-6400C5
CoolerMaster 750W
Antec 900 Case
Zalman
CNPS7500-Cu LED Universal CPU Cooler

Any time I set my multiplier to 10x320 (3.2GHz) it messes up and won't post at all. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I've done the following
  • Turned off Smart Fan control
  • Turned off CPU EIST Function (Speedstep)
  • Disabled CPU Enhanced Halt
  • Locked my PCIe bus at 100Mhz
  • Set my memory multiplier to 2.00
  • Turned off all "performance enhancers" off of turbo/etc to standard
  • Messed with voltages but it seems to stay at 1.28 or so in CPUID

Buyl3.jpg

Anyone know what my problem could be? My goal is really 3.4 or 3.6ghz if possible but I'm not sure if that's possible with the stability that I'm having. I'm going to try to set my FSB over-voltages to +.2 or +.3 or so to see if that does the trick. Any thoughts on what I should try setting my Vcore to? I've tried upping it to like 1.4v but in CPU ID it doesn't show my vcore to that setting, any reason why?

I'm currently stable at 3.0Ghz (9x333) with all auto voltages. Do I need to change ram times? I haven't gotten the foggiest of what ram timings changes would do, and if I have to update them or not.

Could my BIOS be holding me back? I have v4, currently v6 is the most recent one. I can't flash it because I don't have a Floppy Drive installed on this rig because i mostly use USB flash drivers or memory cards for removable media, that and i live in the 21st century =D

I found with mine that i just sold it needed a little more voltage on the Cpu. i had a Q6400 @ 401FSB on air no problem with a little more voltage. also i ran my 1066ram at 800MHZ an 4-4-4-12. try a little more voltage. mine in the bios was at 1.37 or real close. my board had some vdroop so that might be your trouble.

try with this

Settings:
CPU EIST Function__________ [Disabled]
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E)____ [Disabled]
No-Execute Memory Protect__ [Disabled]
Limit CPUID Max. to 3______ [Disabled]

Peripherials
SATA AHCI Mode__________ [AHCI] - if i put ahci, windows dont boot up even if sata is in it

MIT
Robust Graphics Booster Auto
CPU Clock Ratio x7
CPU Host Clock Control Enable
CPU Host Frequency (MHz) 400
PCI 100
C.I.A. 2 Disable
System Memory Multiplier (SPD) 2.00

Now for voltages i have some questions..
how to set them up..
i tried by default giving to cpu 1.375v
DDR2 OverVoltage Control 0.3
PCI-E OverVoltage Control 0.1
FSB OverVoltage Control 0.1
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control 0.1

ive used and it worked out...
i tried max with my e6550 with 500fsb and worked

if u setup one voltage in bios, and cpuid shows u something else it means that ur max voltage is in bios...
cpuid probably shows voltage u are currently using

I disabled the above like you said but I dont understand why i'd use a 7x400. That's lower than my 9x333 atm. I'd try 8x400 (maybe you had a typo?) but it seems to crash anytime I have a high FSB setup.

its all depends on cpu...
multi on e6550 max is 7..
urs is probably 9...

what memory do u have??

also, dont forget with bigger memory its hard to OC...
ive tried same mobo with 8, 4 and 2.. and the best OC was with 2gb

My highest is 10x320 that i've tried but voltage needs to be at like 1.4 for stability. My memory is listed on the first post... lol...
