Hd 5770 93*c / Possible AB bug?

Thread Starter
Well I was bitmining for about 20 mins and I noticed my fans weren't going mad (Custom AB fan profile, (keeps it under 75*C)). So I opened up AB and this is what I found:
Attachment 209347

Only thing that could have caused this is a bug in afterburner that caused my fan to stop altogether , anyway could this have done any damage to my 5770? I'm kind of paranoid now as I often leave my PC bitmining overnight.

92c won't do any damage. your card is fine.

The reason your thing didn't work is because user define in fanspeed isn't enabled.
Nah,

Those GPU's can hit about 100c before you have any damage.
Even if the temperature got higher 100c+ the gpu would throttle down to protect itself

Also your saying that the default fan profile let the card get to 93*C ?

Lol,

My 5770 would regularly get to the high 90's when gaming...

It's a GPU, it's designed to get hotter than your CPU.

It's a different architecture, I really wouldn't worry too much.

Ya, this. GPUs can take a hit

5770s do get hot for there TDP... make it 50% fanspeed at all times when your gaming

90C is ok, but if you can handle the noise then 75C is optimal.
