BSOD on overclocking Q9550

Thread Starter
Hey, around a year ago I had a successful overclock to 4GHz on my Core 2 Quad Q9550 and had things like the FSB speed and such saved, but not all the settings.

It was fine back then, but now after playing an hour of something like Shift 2 Unleashed I get BSOD.

Below are my current settings:

All help is greatly appreciated.. thanks.

You know that P5Q will not be Large FFT's stable on a Quad 45nm much past 450FSB? But it can be stable for other things. So If you still wanna keep that overclock I suggest you begin upping FSB Termination Volts and set the GTL multiplier to x0.65. You can begin with 1.34v FSB and up it if unstable.

And set CPU PLL to 1.54v.

Then go back to stress testing like when you did your original OC. OCCT short-term, Prime Blend long term.

mk I've kept bumping it, reaching 1.4 FSB termination at the moment, and still the same hassles.

back the VTT down and try bumping VCore. You don't want to run 1.4 VTT long term, and it doesn't seem to be helping.

currently about 1.43v vcore still with BSOD, set to like 1.46v in the BIOS.

idk if the vcore is going to help as I seen one guy with the same cpu and mobo saying he was at like 4.5GHz using about 1.4v core voltage.

Bump your CPU multiple down to 6x and Prime Blend to see if it's your RAM/NB failing.

I'm willing to bet you need more NB voltage.
