If you can wait, try waiting for bulldozer, because apparently it's going to be backwards compatible with AM3, and have SLI.

Here's a 16x/16x SLI board for regular AM3 though:

Just one question. What cards are you going to be Sli'ing? 'Cuz that 6850 you have there Crossfire like a Champ. Just get a 2nd 6850 and Crossfire them. And you'll have a better performance then Two 5850.
Just my opinion.

But yea, what cards are you Sli'ing?

The 8xx chipsets don't support SLI, unless you follow this guide. And yea, xfire the 6850. You'll do very well with those.

Get a 900 series chipset board, they support AM3+ expandability as well as native SLI (licensed through nVidia). They'll be out in 1 month.

I also recommend you keep your cores unlocked to prevent from killing anything for one month; this board is known for VRM failures on high TDP processors.

New boards are coming out in 1 month, on AM3+ socket (which supports AM3 CPU and AM3+ CPU of next generation), with native SLI support

About the VRM thing... go to the link "About VRMs & MOSFETs" in my sig for more info
