Sound quality loss when connected with speaker's wired remote

Thread Starter

I currently have HD555 and also Logitech Z4 2.1 speaker system(

). It has a wired remote where you can plug headphones into which will allow sound to output to the HD555 headphones instead of the speakers. Will doing this instead instead of plugging the HD555 plugged directly into the sound card yield any noticeable quality lost?

If it's noticeable depends on you, but AFAIK it does reduce the sound quality.

The best thing you can do is test it and see for yourself. I went through this process; plugged my HD280's into the volume pod and gamed for a while, paused game and unplugged, plugged them directly into the sound card and continued gaming for a while. in doing this I found (to my ears) that there is a slight degradation when connected to the volume pod. Whether it's something you can live with is up to you.
