Painting heatsinks on a UD4... Doable?

Hey all,

As the title suggests, I'm looking to paint the heatsinks on the MOBO all back, for a more stealth look, maybe a "flat black" so it's not glossy but doesn't have that matte finish...

Mainly, my questions are as follows:

~ Is it possible to paint the heatsinks "and" retain 100% of the cooling properties?
~ What paint would be the best paint to use?
~ Is there a special technique to painting MOBO heatsinks?
~ What are possible problems that might arise?

If this thread is in the wrong section, can someone please notify me?

Cheers,

Ishi

I've seen this done before on a CPU heatsink. It will increase the temperature, by how much? I'm not sure. Depends on the how thick the coat is and the paint used. I wouldn't advise using spray paint.

Instead you could anodize it. Which shouldn't have any affects on the cooling properties.
