sorry another i5 2500k thread :) did i get a good chip??? - Page 2

I think you need to stop what you are doing and read all your instruction books and then read some threads about putting computers together. There is no shame in not knowing what your doing but there is shame in not reading up on everything and destroying your parts because you did not want to research everything properly.

yes im positived i connected all the power wires from the case to the mobo, the JFP1 connectors, hdd led, power switch, reset sw, POWER led

when i power on the mobo, the PSU fan spins a bit, case fans spins a bit too, stops... both spins 2 secs, stops, repeats...lol

im pretty sure its the damn PSU is DOA, no juice!!! , now i have to wait for sunday to buy another PSU, i got this antec 650 TP for dirt cheap and its dead, now i have to waste money on a more expensive PSU

i hope for gods sake, i didn't short out the mobo , pretty sure its 100% ok

Be sure to place the motherboard standoff's or this will happen :

Be sure that it is actually a faulty PSU before you go replacing stuff that works just fine...

Dude, it's NOT THE PSU!!

You need to 1) make sure the RAM is correctly inserted in the slots,
2) please REMOVE the cpu and heatsink and check for crushed or bent pins.
That on/off thing is what happens when there is a hardware problem with the CPU/socket, or with the RAM. Also did you insert the +12v EPS12v power connector (auxillary 12v) 8 pin for the CPU power plug next to the socket?

I'll bet $50 bucks you crushed the pins because you didnt know what you were doing....
