Bulldozer is the new architecture from AMD. Unlike previous chips, this is a completely new CPU architecture.

The new one from Intel is Ivy Bridge, and that's going to be a 22nm die shrink from current Sandy Bridge CPUs.
just the tower.

22nm dies? damn. i remember when 45nm was the ****

P67A-UD4 - 200$
8GB DDR3 1600/CL9 - 100$
HD 6950 Crossfire - 500$
Silverstone 1000w - 150$
H50 - 75$
60GB C300 - 125$
1TB x2 RAID 0 - 100$

You can choose any case.

Total: 1,450$

And guess what - you have a rig as powerful as mine.
$50 Dollars for a case. He might as well settle on the Antec 300 according to your build specification.

Does he intend to fiddle around with his computer at all (overclocking etc) or does he just want a computer that can play games?
Because if he want's to do overclocking or anything else for that matter, I don't think a 50$ random case will cut it.

But yeah, a bigger case is a must - it's easily one of the most overlooked things. I would recommend either a haf 922 at minimum or one of the corsair obsidian cases (800d or similar)

Yeah, it's a single rail. Instead of spending 100$ for a decent PSU with ~600 watts, you get a fantastic, single-rail PSU with 1000 watts that will carry you into the next ten years.

The DH-14 and the H70 are regarded as the best. The H70 is 100$.

hyper 212+ - good budget air
noctua d-14 - top air cooler?
H50/H60 - great water cooling alternative around same price as the d-14 with similar temps
