Amd athlon x2 5400+ vcore

Hey guys i have a really old computer laying around that i havent touched in ages. Its specs are as follows

2 GB ram
640 GB Hard Drive
AMD Athlon X2 5400+ Dual Core 2.8 Ghz
680 Watt Apevia Power Supply
Gigabyte M2N32 Sli-Deluxe Motherboard
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT Graphics Card
Xion 2 Mid Tower Case

I just pulled it out and hooked it up to see if the thing even still works and is stable. everything is completely stock. I do have an upgraded cpu fan though. So i ran prime95 and the vcore on the thing jumps to 1.45volts. I am used to i7 being able to get 4 Ghz at 1.25 vcore. And i know if i pushed my i7 to 1.45 i wud need water cooling cuz that is insane. The thing is running at around 50 degrees celcius though under full load on prime95. So is this voltage something to worry about? should i lower it in the bios? or is this normal for these processors?

It's fine.
Also, it's not THAT old...

Would make a nice platform for a fileserver or something.

Firstly I must correct you,The M2N32-sli dlx is from ASUS not Gigabyte.
I looks like the cpu voltage is on auto,if you are only going to run stock speeds you can set it manually to 1.35v.(you may need to adjust this up or down in the bios as this board tends to slightly overvolt from what is set in the bios.(eg; on my board 1.300v in bios will give 1.344v in cpu-z)
And has almost no vdroop.

And another bit of info for you is that this board can run up to an Phenom II x4 945 with bios version 5002,and up to a Phenom II x4 975/980 with the use of the Nvidia system tools. And it is a great overclocker too.

We have a club here too for this MB,click the link in my sig. check it out.

Good luck
