Trying to Stable OC 2600k to 4.8GHz

Thread Starter
Hi everyone, Im new to this forum and Semi-new to Overclocking. Im attempting to overclock my 2600k to 4.8GHz. Im using this guide.
http://www.overclock.net/intel-gener...uide-p67a.html

Im on step #3 trying to find the lowest possible stable voltage. Im using IntelBurnTest but I'm not sure what the highest amount of RAM I should use for the test to get a good result that doesn't take forever. I'm using 16GB of RAM. From what I can tell 8192MB seems to work pretty well on the test. Should I use more available RAM to get a true stability or is 8GB fine? Also I'm currently at 1.38V working my way up (My SVID had it lower I believe) I need help from someone experienced with the ASUS Maximus IV Extreme Mobo.

Well, I adjusted the LLC in the bios to 75% and it is 4 hours 17mins Prime95 stable at 1.35v. Now to test it on IBT to see how it does. Hopefully its totally stable.

I usually use 75% of ram for IBT (6GB out of 8GB). Make sure you have the latest linpack that makes use of AVX otherwise IBT won't stress your cpu enough. For me, 50x passes of IBT w/AVX using 75% ram is the same or better than 12H+ of prime95 blend.

Updated Linpack: http://software.intel.com/en-us/arti...pack-download/

So what should i do for the chimp challenge? Is folding@home a program to run tests for finding a cure for those diseases or something?
