Custom Retro Case?

Thread Starter
My dad's birthday is coming up in about 2 months, and I need something to do.

He really likes the old-fashioned look, so I'm thinking a retro case would be a cool gift. I did wood shop in middle/highschool for a couple years, and I just started using 3DS Max last week, so I'm thinking it would be a fun collaboration of all my "skills."

Here's a quick render, tell me what you think! It's my first ever 3D model, so don't be too harsh!

The dimensions are somewhere around 12.5"x7"x12.5"

I really dig retro style, having a custom retro case must be very cooool! It seems like a very original present.

I can't really give you any advice, but keep up the good work! I'm really looking forward to seeing your finished case!
