Thread Starter
looking for a solid mobo for my upcoming build.. been out of the game for a while now and no telling what i've missed. i have a core i7 chip i believe the 860 model @ stock 2.80 ghz.. i Want a easy overclock hopefully to around the 3.6-3.8 ghz range.. id like multiple hookups for Optical drives im trying to hook up at least 3 or 4.. maybe 2 hard drives.. and id like to hook up 2 monitors to this build.. preferably threw a HDMI hook up. And im going to try and drop 8gbs of RAM in this build maybe even 12.. Links would be appreciated..

if it matters this is the case im going to buy.

It'll work well but if your able to get something of better quality and more room for later expansion, that's always a good idea.

Here's some others in the price range of what you linked,

whats the difference of the 2 that you linked to me and the one that i linked (im still noobish) and how do they compare to my needs..

2 HDDs
4 @ MAX Optical Drives
Overclock to 3.6-3.8
Ability to Run 2 23' Samsung Monitors (does this matter for the GPU or MOBO?)

The overall quality, if your going to be overclocking it's nice to have a decent board. If you don't, it requires more work and voltage.

All of the boards linked in the thread so far will work, but if your straining them with overclocks then you want some quality. That will give longer life since better boards are made with higher quality components so they don't fail.

Running the monitors is more Dependant on the gpu, as long as the mobo has a minimum of 1 pci-e 2.0 slot then your good to go.

so in your own opinion are the ones that you linked in the 119 to 129 range just as good as the ones you linked at the beginning.

Not as good, just a small step down. Otherwise still decent.
