need a few things cleared up 2600k

Thread Starter
(1) A lot of guys say to desable EIST, C1E, C3 & C6, Turbo enabled,
but then i read other forums not to desable eist and c1e on asua boards.
I read this on the asus overclocking forum.
Some internal testing has shown on limited samples that some improvement is possible (generally in the range of 1 multi possibly 2 )
In addition continued testing with the PPL option enabled and D2 or retail parts have shown some benefits to CStates being disabled when approaching, at or exceeding a 50x multiplier. An important note to keep in mind is that disabling CStates can considerably affect HD performance ( especially SATA6G ) Please keep this in mind when going for the highest level overclocks.
--------
So is it worth it to desable EIST, C1E, C3 & C6
(2) I have try to overclock with offset voltage and with manual cpu voltage
but with offset at 0.070 witch gives me like 1.42 underload in cpu-z
for 5ghz .
my bench marks score droop 3dmark11 with out offset 1.43 manual 1.42 cpu-z
1.42 under load. i get 11390 score with uing offset i get 10964.
why is that.

What i am realy trying to find out what is the best and safest way to over clock this chips on the asus p67 deluxe.
and is 1.44v to much with water cooling.

thanks guys.

and is it save to rase the blk to say 100.3 or so.

Might as well keep EIST, C1E, C3 and C6 enabled since it won't effect stability and performance overall.

Offset isn't bad, usually seems to depend on the board/cpu as to whether offset or manual is better or not.

what are your temps with 1.44...
Temps are what the issue is, not the voltage itself.

Overclock it by raising the multiplier, and perhaps the BCLK, since that will also OC your RAM at the same time.

But I wouldn't disable features such as speedstep to get a higher OC.

Also you can adjust the BCLK up to roughly 104 depending on your overall OC. You can raise your BLCK to lower your turbo multi

at 1.44 my temps are at 71c i used this for 5.1ghz but only 2 hour prime stable.
This is a template i am kind of going by.
but not 4.8 i going for 5ghz with it
---
4.6Ghz Settings - 1.000v idle/ 1.304v Max Load i get 1.063 idle/ and about 1.43 max load
with +0.080 for 5 ghz
Overclock Tuner: Manual
BLCK Freq: 100.00
Turbo Ratio: Enabled (All Cores)
By All Cores: 48 using 50
Internal PLL OverVoltage: Enabled
Mem Freq: (AS PER YOUR RAM) 1600
EPU Power Saving: Disabled

Load-Line Calibration: High
VRM Freq: Manual Set to 350
Phase Control: Extreme
Duty Contorl: Extreme
CPU Current Capability: 100%
CPU OverVoltage: Offset Mode
CPU Offset: + 0.060 (This may be too low for some people, so either up this to 0.090 or add 0.030 to the Additional Turbo Voltage setting) i set mine to +0.080 for 5 ghz
DRAM Voltage: (AS PER YOUR RAM) 1.5
VCCSA Voltage: Auto
VCCIO Voltage: Auto
CPU PLL Voltage: Auto
PCH Voltage: Auto
CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled
CPU Ratio: Auto
Intel Adaptive Thermal Monitor: Enabled
Intel Virtualization: Disabled
Intel SpeedStep: Enabled
Turbo Mode: Enabled
CPU C1E, C3, C6: Enabled
Another thing i did was rase the cpu voltage in cpu power option to 0.012
and this got me stable with prime95.
-----
but when i go this rute 3dmark score drop and i lose fps in 3dmark apps.

so a higer cpu voltage is save if temps are below say 75c
then how come alot of guy say stay under 1.4 volts on the 2600k
I know these chip can overclock easy i just want to do it right
it just that you read so much stuff it get confusing

Hot plug will make it possible to hotswap harddrives. You can disconnect/connect serial ATA devices the same way you do with USB I believe.
