BFBC2 Crashing - Anyone fixed it? - Page 3

I'd therefore be content to have to switch to "PCM 48 kHz" to keep BFBC2 from crashing. Having said that, I've not tested this for anywhere near long enough (just 5 minutes) to be able to conclude this is a viable fix. I will thoroughly test tomorrow and will report back.
I didn't know there were actually games that ran over 48khz. 192khz is generally useless unless you have some high quality samples/files around.
88/96/192 kHz is only really useful if you are a musician/producer because they work with those sources when adding filters, compressors, etc.

If you are just a consumer, just stick with 44.1/48 kHz. The majority of stuff you listen to are recorded at 44.1/48 kHz sample rates. All you are doing when you set the sound card to 192 kHz is interpolating the source material with no added benefit.
Before the sound fix, I had also set the RenderAheadLimt in the settings.ini file to 2 (one below how may cores I have) and the CTDs occurred less frequently. I have since set it back to default (3 for me) ~2 months or so after adjusting the bitrate with no ill effects.

In the original post, I assume the "BANG" means a shift of the screen to flashing pure black/red/pink to accompany the sound loop? Then we do indeed have both experienced the problem you are talking about. However, mine was worse because it acted like the video driver itself halfway crashed - an inability to render or interact with/use programs such as steam or media player classic, yet keep screen resolution and browser functionality intact.

Perhaps I will see you tomorrow during your test. (Vloxalion)

I never crashed when I was on my crossfire 5870, however sli or single 470 I would crash every time I play.

I never had an issues personally, but a buddy of mine has had alot of success by forcing BF2 to use DX9. He was running 2x4850's.

For some strange reason, manually setting it to DX11 in the settings stopped it for me. Might help.

Funny you should mention that. Not saying it really means anything but I would get a CTD couple times a week with my 5750. Haven't experienced it once with either my old 460 or the 560 I'm currently running.

Thread Starter
Right, I've just had a chance to test things out and it seems that setting "PCM 48 kHz" audio sample rate on my sound card fixed the problem!!
Thanks again to FelixLegend for suggesting it!
I just played for about two hours with absolutely zero problems. Of course, I also closed MSI Afterburner and GPU-Z before running BFBC2, just in case. It seems the audio sample rate thing fixed it though!

Shutting down MSI Afterburner worked for me, but later I found out that higher overclocks also lead to these crashes. Whether it´s an unstable overclock or not, I don´t know, since other games are fine on 4.8Ghz.
