Windows 7 installation does not see SSD

Hello all,
I am currently putting together a computer and everything seems to be looking good so far.
The board is the p8p67 and the BIOS looks good, shows the SSD, the CPU, ram and everything.
The SSD is the Intel 320 120gb and it is hooked up to the first blue intel SATA port on the mobo.
But nevertheless, the Windows 7 installation cannot see my SSD and tells me to install the appropriate drivers, which do not exist.
It might also be important to note that I am trying to install windows 7 through a bootable USB (since I noticed that my DVD drive is IDE and the mobo has no plugs for it).
I have attempted the fix this by a common resolution I found online by going to the command prompt and getting the drive list and cleaning the drive, which works fine. The drivers shows everywhere except the Win 7 installation portion.
I also tried with the IDE mode, the RAID mode, and the ACHI mode. Nothing.

Any thoughts anyone? Thanks a bunch!

Right-Click on the My Computer icon either on your desktop or in the Start Menu and select Manage. A new window titled Computer Management comes up.
Select Storage from the left hand side by clicking it once, then select Disk Management(local) from the right side by double-clicking it. Is your SSD there? If it is format it with one large partition.

First you partition - do a primary partition if you want only one partition on the hard drive. Then you format the partition - again right click and select format use NTSF - use default allocation size and give the new volume a label (no spaces allowed in the name).

Are you running in ahci mode? If so, you are gonna need the Intel drivers for ahci to be able to continue the installation.

*edit* just noticed you tried in different modes.

Have you tried plugging the SSD in into other sata ports?

Try updating the motherboard BIOS.

I doubt that the SSD would be faulty since it is detected in the BIOS, and within the command prompt of the windows 7 installation. It shows as a disk and I am able to clean it and even format it...

Hmm, would updating the mobo BIOS really have affect on the installation being able to see it? Interesting...
I mean btw, if there are indeed drivers for this SSD, I wouldn't mind using them during the installation process...
