TX 750 is enough for a gtx 480 sli + i7 950 ov/oc - Page 2

750w might get by at stock depending the quality of the PSU. However 850w to 1000w model is recommended if you overclock and/or fold. GTX 480's are power hungry cards.

im scared to run furmark on my gtx 480 sli and my 1055t 3.5 @ 1.45 max... haven't done it yet, and definetly don't want to.

This. A GTX480 pull more power than sli gtx580s. Let alone 2 of them. Around 350 watts for each card.

EDIT: Single GTX480 pulls 320 watts. 2x GTX480s draw 624 watts.

Not really.

OP should go with the HX850/similar and above.

If you mean you're overvolting the GTX 480's then I would say 850w. Otherwise 750w would work fine provided you don't run LinX+Furmark 24/7.

They consume more than GTX 580's, but definitely not 350w.

The GTX 570 pulls less current then the 480!
That's very interesting, the HD6970's pull more current than the GTX570's, yet my PSU is cappable of handling all my rig under full load just fine.

I have a Kill-A-Watt meter and never seen it above 500W with everything being stressed.

A TX750/HX750 is more than enough for x2 GTX570's, 2 of my friends have that combo with no issues, now GTX480 SLI is another story, I'd say a Corsair HX850 at least.

That's Furmark, and the GTX 5xx series have limiters so there is no point in comparing those scores.

A 570 uses more power than a 6970.. though not by much, so 2x 6970 and 570 should have similar figures.

Anyways I agree, HX850 or similar is good.
