@OP - I'm going to give my recommendation for the HHKB. Uses the same switches as the Topre Realforce, but the layout is awesome.

As for the best switches, do you want something quiet or clicky?
After going through and reading the guide by Manyak, I will probably go with Cherry MX Black, Browns, or Topre switches.

No Blues.

I checked the HHKB and I liked it. Infact, I really really liked it, but I hate not having arrow keys. Would leave me very dependent on a mouse for cursor location, and I think thats just dumb.

So checking out the Realforce 103, I like the color, the key layout is good, its a full keyboard, but not having PS2/NKRO throws me off. The reason for that being simply, its $265. Logic dictates it should be the best of the best, at least for that price range, it should be included.

I promised myself no more Razer/gimmicky gear sorry.

I will rep all when I get a computer back in an hour.

Posting again to help, these keyboards dont use cherry switches at all, they use topre capacitive switches, I think they have a feel similar to a brown but someone else should correct me. They are widely regarded as the best switches ever, if you want more info look at the mech keyboard guide there may be info on them there, you could also check out geekhack which is a keyboard forum.

I have read the guide, and it has read me.

With my new found wisdom, I will purchase either:
Realforce Topre - Tenkeyless
HHKB - Dark Grey w/ Black Print
Overclock.net's new Duckies due any day now.

I will wait till the new OCN boards are out, and then make my decision.

Thanks everybody for the inputs, I really appreciate it, and I learned quite a bit.

If you have the cash for a Topre or a HHKB go for one of those.

I personally love my Logitech G510.. but that is biased haha. I have used it for almost a year and I have never had any problem with it, whether I am using it for gaming, or the occasional essay.

They can press any 6 keys down at the same time. They essentially have NKRO, but the default USB specification limits them to 6. This won't be a problem unless you need to press more then 6 keys down at the same time.
