Another Newbie Question

Thread Starter
Hello,

I just Ordered 240 XSPC setup the smaller RS one with 2 Gentle typhoon's. I was wondering if it would support 2 GPUs and a CPU, I was originally just going to use it on the 2 GPUs (6970 full cover). This PC is not going to be overclocked.

GPU Block x2: 6970 EK

If I could get any insight it would be greatly appreciated

Thank you.

Yea your temps should be fine if you're not overclocking.

Under normal circumstances I would say that's not enough, but it will definitely outperform stock coolers by a mile, and those are fine for stock speeds...

All that will happen is your coolant will get hotter before reaching equilibrium with the surroundings.

Edit:

Thought I should just add; so long as you allow decent airflow to the system. Obvious really, but the number of people who keep their computers in zero airflow environments like enclosed cupboard like spaces...

I would reconsider doing that if you aren't going to be overclocking..

But that isn't enough rad to dissipate all that heat, a Rx360 + 120 or even just the 360 would be good but not a 240

Honestly the system is not for me, its for my father. I could order another 120 Rad that would make 360 in total.

The chip is an i5, but I didn't want to go with stock cooling. Everything is ordered already. So just going to have to order another Rad if that's necessary.

Im considering ordering:
Black Ice GTX Xtreme 120 Radiator - Black
For the 2nd Rad.

Just keep an eye on the temperatures, I don't think you'll struggle with stock clocks, give it a stress test for an hour or so, see what happens.

And set realtemp to run minimised on startup with a temp alarm on the CPU.

If it has issues, get some more radiators...

You would be very much on the edge with a RS240. I would recommend just 1 more 120 rad just to be safe.
