Another build with needed help

Thread Starter

Now I am looking at building again. Found that a lot of people use newegg.com. So looking at the site and reviews...blah blah blah came up with a list of what I think sounds good but need some advice on anything.

I pretty much need everything from ground up to monitor. I have a Tritton AX360 (

had them for a couple yrs now), headphones that I use for the consoles that use the optical out. Sorry for the list but I have no idea how to post it. If you can help I'll edit it and make it 100000x better!

Looks good, some change's though

swap that zalman cooler with this, far better performance for the same price
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&Tpk=megahalem

Not a fan of rosewill PSU's so for 20$ you can get a corsair tx 650, way better quality
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-005-_-Product

ditch that barracuda for a samsung f3, faster and more reliable

Thanks a lot for your help. After more and more reading last night. I think I am going to not get the 'combo deal' and build something a little more better.

What about this now:
Antec Nine Hundred Two V3 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
I like this case more than the other one in the combo deal. Looks better.

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

GIGABYTE GA-P67X-UD3-B3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Will this do or is there something others that someone can advise on. When I do go SLI which would be better 16x,8x like this one has or like some of the others that have 16x,4x??

Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

COOLER MASTER Hyper N 520 RR-920-N520-GP 92mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Intel Core i7 compatible
Read lots of reviews on this one and others. While the one you suggested I also read where people had to drill holes in their case to fit the heatsink...so I dunno.

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM
The combo had 8GB but I believe that 4GB will be fine for now. This will be a gaming rig only and to store photos/music/vids/documents ect.

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Using this for storing media crap on.

Crucial RealSSD C300 CTFDDAC064MAG-1G1 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Will be OS and games (BF3>> Love the Battlefield games and console is lacking where PC is best...also 64+ players, and much much more)

MSI N560GTX-TI Twin Frozr II/OC GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
Looks like a great GPU. Read and seen lots of reviews and vids on it.

LITE-ON Black 18X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM IDE DVD-ROM Drive Model iHDP118-08
Cheap DVD-ROM...no need for burning CDs really anymore.

Sounds good? Orrrr get the combo deal and go with my first post/build?
Sniper SuperCombo

Also I am looking at this Monitor for $179:
ASUS VH236H Black 23" Full HD Widescreen LCD Monitor w/ Speakers
For the price I think it will be ok...what is others running that could be close or better? around same price tho

So many choices soooo many...

You might want to consider different Ram. the Ram you picked is 1.65V and 1.5V is best for SB systems. Take a look at these instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231427 Order them before tomorrow and you will save $20.

I think you could do better on a CPU cooler too.

Been real busy at work to have any free time to do research. But what I was wondering do I need to get any cables for anything? Or does the HD and SSD come with cables?

Kind of a dumb question I know but it is what it is
