Reciever Just Did Something Odd?

Thread Starter
Was sitting here listening to music typing an email and my receiver (Onkyo TX SR-601) froze on me. I had my headphones plugged in but it started playing the sound from the computer through speakers. I tried to re-plug headphones and got nothing.. I then tried to turn it off with the power button and that did nothing.

Unplugged it and re-plugged and EVERYTHING I had set got reset. I originally bought this used from an older, retired guy on craigslist (In stupidly good condition with original boxes and all) 18+ Months ago so I don't think it was "broken" when he sold it.

Anything I should be worried about? I've never had this issue but am about to drop a large amount of money on a new display and want to know if I should hold off and see if that money would be better invested in a better receiver should this one die on me. (Call me paranoid but better safe than sorry)

I had the TX-SR601 at one point, and I know that thing (as well as most Onkyo receivers) can run super hot. If you have it enclosed or racked, much clearance is there from the top and sides?

You can also manually reset the receiver. I don't remember exactly what the buttons were, but try pressing "VCR/DVR and Standby" at the same time. If that doesn't work, refer to your manual or look online.
