What Card to crossfire my 6950 with?

Thread Starter
Im having trouble deciding whether to crossfire my XFX 6950 2GB(with shaders unlocked) with:
Sapphire Reference 6950, 2GB
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ducts_id=16295
ASUS Direct CU II 6950. 2GB
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ducts_id=16856
MSI TF2 6950 2GB
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ducts_id=16817

I was wondering if i should go with the Sapphire, and unlock shaders, or go with the non-reference ones and overclock them
Thanks

why aren't you using another XFX ?

If your looking for a cooler running card I can verify the Frozr will work well.

Too expensive(prices went up 30 dollars) and sapphire comes with more. Will there be problems with different brands crossfired?

personally i would get another xfx matching card, unmatching cards is alittle dumb looking! Plus its easier to sell them together later on!

Personally I would go the reference Saphire simply for aesthetic reasons. 2 of the same cards always looks better than odd cards in my opinion.

If you don't care about that then the Asus and MSI cards are beasts, the Asus is especially reliable. However keep in mind that it's a 3 slot card and on your P67 motherboard your pretty much going to occupy all your slots, not to mention your cards will be almost touching! (Not optimal for heat dissipation).
The MSI card which has excellent cooling and low noise and it's still a good card will only occupy 2, so your choice.

If you want a clean look go with the Saphire. If you want a reliable quite beast and don't care about space go with the Asus, if you want a quite beast then go with the MSI.

Also I'm fairly certain that the non reference cards are being unlocked now too, look in to it.

well, what if i have the reference card as the master one?
Edit: Is it a problem to have it right next to the psu? Because three slots down starting at the second PCI express slot is directly above my PSU.

It doesn't matter which one is the master.

No it's no problem to have it next to the PSU, I have mine there. I was suggesting that the Asus 3 slot card might take up an extra slot that might be already occupied or that you might occupy in the near future with say a sound card or a NIC or something.

What are the benefits of a sound card? I'm so noob I game with UE 700s, tho their sound quality is actually terrific

the new xfx cards are not the original reference design aswell. (no bios switch no black backplate and different and louder noise from the fan motor)

Sapphire or MSI.

The MSI has the better cooling, but the Sapphire can be unlocked and will look better with your current card.
