Weird Wireless Connection Issue

Hi guys, i have another problem this time and hopefully the helpful OCN members can resolve my problem once again

So i have a pretty old dlink wireless G router: more info

I dont have any problems with it but my girlfriends Macbook Pro is having weird connection time out issues. At first, i thought it was her macbook cause my laptop or my desktop (both running on w7) are perfectly fine with no disconnect or anything. But when she brings it to school, her connection is perfectly fine. Another thing that confirmed it was the setting of my router is when my friend, who also has a macbook, is having the same issue (connection timeout) which he does NOT have at his place.

So any setting that people know will help resolve this problem? I tried google but no avail.

wireless channel: 6
WPA security mode with TKIP cipher type.

Ask away for all other important information to resolve this issue !

Have you tried changing the security mode on it, this happened with me on a friends router.

have you tried replacing your friends with ones that do not use macbooks. you might find life becomes much better and your problems are solved.

I would conclude that it IS the macbooks that are the cause of this issue. just because they work fine on someone else doesnt mean its your router. maybe other places are unsecured networks. or are using wep. there could be a lot of variables at play here. If you really want to eliminate your friends macbooks as the problem. then default the router and leave it wide open. if that fixes it then yes you have a compatibility issue with the crapbooks and your router.

Thanks for the response. I will try using WEP or even unsecured to see if anything changes with the macbook

I also set to channel 11, since channel 6 is the default and maybe a lot of interference?
