Worth replacing?

- First of all, I'm not sure if this is the right section, I really don't know whether my RAM is Intel or AMD... I have Intel Xeon processors, if that helps? -

I have 4 sticks on RAM currently in my computer and they're all exactly the same. They are 512MB of DDR RAM. Here's what Speccy has to say about them:

As you can see, my RAM is pretty terrible seeing as they're only 133mhz each. Now, I have a spare stick of RAM sitting here next to me from one of my old computers and I'm wondering whether I should replace one of the sticks with it? The stick I have sitting next to me now is 1GB DDR 400MHz, which is good compared to two of my sticks. Here's a product page for it: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ELIXIR-1GB-DDR...f02c30ffebd9f0

So, what do you think I should do? Should I replace it with one of my current sticks or leave it as it is? Is it better to keep it as it is because they're all matching, or is it worth replacing one of them to get that extra 300mhz? Thanks a lot.

It wouldn't make any difference since it would slow down to the slowest memory stick in the machine.

Thanks for you post but I'm confused; what do you mean?

They are actually 266mhz because they are ddr (double data rate) - in any event, it can't hurt performance to replace it though I don't think you're going to see any performance gains in real world applications either :-)

Ah I see, thanks. Does that mean the 1gb stick would be 800mhz, or am I missing something? Will there be any risks from me trying to replace the stick? Thanks for your post
