Switchable graphics problem?(artifacting)

Thread Starter
So i've made a thread similar to this on the PC gaming forum but i have since narrowed down to the fact that if i switch my onboard graphics to my 6550m (Acer 5820TG) , i would get weird artifacting problems aka display problems.Though if i were to set it to discrete graphics in the BIOs this problem would be gone(though i'd lose the ability to use the onboard graphics).

Any idea what would have caused this? I've tried using the 11.3 mobility drivers but that didn't help either.

Did you roll back from 11.4? I haven't been following it but I thought 11.4 helped with this stuff? confused.gif

The reason why is a software issue with amd/ati switch-a-roo graphics. There has to be a problem where it doesn't recognize software and switch to the discrete to do the intensive work then switch back when exited said software. There is probably a patch/driver update that needs to occur. mad.gif

Uhh....i rolled forward from the default acer support website drivers but that didn't seem to help much , i still can't figure out whats wrong since it worked fine before.
