So what? Intel also recommends that you should not OC at all and that BCLK should stay default. That they recommend that the Turbo function is used for OC'ing is laughable when they at the same time go against 2 of their own recommendations. Just ask Viridian, it's not advisable to change BCLK.

BLCK overclocking is useless. As the PCI lanes now operates with the BLCK. Personally I dont see the big problem going from 100.0 to 101.00.

It will not increase the stress on the rest of the hardware by A LOT as some people think.

--- EDIT ---

Lowest multiplier: 16xBLCK
Highest multiplier: 59xBLCK.

The CPU will operate at 16x when in idle-state. And using the upper multiplier whenever there is activity.

Your only option is to increase the multiplier that will be used by Turbo Boost, and you can set individual multipliers to be used when 1, 2, 3, or all 4 cores are in use. Thus, if you disable Turbo Boost technology, you can't overclock the processor at all.

I know. I'm making a point here, he says Intel recommends Turbo OC'ing because of that picture, yet in the picture they use BCLK OC'ing which Intel has advised against and Dave claims that you can't even adjust BCLK.

*haha* Okay! THAT is funny. Intel is Intel. What can I say?

I have not and have never said that he should be touching the bclk. I and others have said that he should be setting desired MULTI in the damn TURBO 4 CORES mode. If you would read the PDF and stop being an AppleHOLE you would know that section 3.1.1 says that adjusts should be made to turbo multis. Instead of drawing pictures look at what I said to. In that figure the CPU multi is 34, the turbo ratio is modified.

When did I say that you said he should tweak BCLK? Never. YOU said that BCLK can't be changed, yet your own proof goes against what you said.

I didn't say that I pulled a chunk of an article to show that the intel board in question won't operate over 3.4 GHz on CPU multi. It has to be Turbo multi.

Thread Starter
I dont know what else to do anymore

I've put another 120mm fan on my H50 so now the temperature doesnt go above 58-60 degrees in Prime95 blend test @ 4.5GHz

I've also lowered the temperature limit in BIOS at which the fans start spinning faster

When i run Prime95 the frequency is constantly at 3891 MHz and the load is 100%, but when I'm doing something in Windows, frequency sometimes jump to 4400MHz for a second. So why the hell is it lowered when stress testing

I've set both, Turbo short power max and power max to 135W as seen in one of the reviews on internet, where the guy overclocked same cpu on same mobo
