ok got MY CL7 1600 memory to run in Prime 95 on my bro's machine with hios Thuban for 25 mins by upping the NB voltage to 1.3(thanks for the suggestion) and hand setting all the timings I knew about. So I am heading back home to try this out on my mobo and I'll worry about overclocking soon as I finish figuring out if this ram is any good. Also I am still wondering how to get the results to show up right after I run windows memory diagnostic.

Edit: just saw this

Thanks this got me into windows at 1600 and with advertised timings. However it seems flakey and occasionally hangs. I ran Prime95 for 2 hours(a first for this rig) and then while browsing the interwebs it hangs. Go figure. So I am trying a rollback of the bios, which I think I re-flashed back in November, and trying to see if that helps. How high could I safely go with NB voltage anyway? Just thought a bit more couldn't hurt. Hope I don't have to bite the bullet for new ram or a mobo, but if I do I will.

<<Meh at this
Look at my sig rig

Running 4x2GB since early August 2010 so 8-9 months now. One of the 2x2 kits (bought early June) is approaching its first year anniversary with me. They're doing this at 1.6V (over the rated 1.35V) juts fine.

Well re-flash didn't go too well, actually kinda got skeery there for a moment when it wouldn't post. So I am back at 1333 CL9 and leaving Prime95 running all night(and a fire extinguisher under my pillow). I'll look at ordering that ECO G.Skill kit I linked earlier. Any thoughts on a mobo or try new ram first?
