I've been looking for a while, nothing better to do:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811154084
This isn't completely horrible, although it completely abolishes anything but a single slot GPU and a low profile cpu cooler, its also probably thicker (height wise) than you are looking for, although much narrower than your current case.
I saw a couple of other cases that were either Flex ATX or some other variation, which no current PSU manufacturer has taken the time to make a quality unit like the SFX form factor. So those are out of the question...
Another option is to go full custom...
Its just odd cause a couple of years ago I was looking to build something similar, and there was an abundance of cases that would have worked, and those that didn't used SFX power supplies and could be made to work...

The case in the post above isn't a bad choice, its roughly the same width as the case you are currently using but is thinner by a considerable amount, it also allows for full atx size power supplies, and supports slimline gpus like the one linked earlier... you already have a micro atx motherboard, and a processor/ram to go in it, the only changes required would be the gpu and case. However I'm not sure if thats small enough for your tastes; it will have roughly the same horizontal footprint.

so I guess I would take the PSU out of that case and just put the one I have in?
That case might work if my parents like the look of it. Personally, I would love to stick with the current Silverstone case but it's their whole problem. lol

Personally I think that's a great case, but they're looking more like a standing one like Xaero mentioned. I just learned this myself.

If they are looking for a smaller horizontal footprint with less regard to a vertical footprint, then there may be some alternative options available, I'll look around.

I just realized that Apex case is available in black as well:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811154093

This Lian-Li has a relatively small horizontal footprint, supports full size optical drives, and psus, as well as shorter single slot gpus (like the one you already have).
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112227

It looks like it is shorter than the pc-q08, and is less deep, which is probably good because I am hating my PC-q08 because its just too big.

Also in the range of small cases, is the Silverstone Sugo 05, although I'm uncertain if its small enough for their liking, here is a good comparison shot that gets the size across well:

The PSU or one of the components in the HTPC died. It doesnt power on. Im thinking its the PSU.

So now I need to get something new. Looks like the Llano wont be out for another month so thats out for now unless I just buy a new PSU temporarily.

How potent a PC do you require? Because while the integrated graphics on Llano might be better than anything Intel has to offer, the best CPU available is basically Athlon II X4 level. You already have a Core i5 Lynnfield. You keep saying you don't want to move to Core i3 level performance but that's pretty much the same level of CPU performance the top Llano APU will deliver.

Imho, go with Llano if you want to use integrated graphics. Go with Sandy Bridge (or perhaps even Bulldozer if M-ITX boards become available) if you're planning on using a discrete GPU.

Heck, assuming your CPU is working fine, if you want to go Mini-ITX, the Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3 is a great motherboard that will work with your Core i5-750. That's what I use in my primary PC (see sig rig).

Problem with mini-itx is that I cant get a case to support what I want/have.

I guess I have to wait till Llano but thats until July.
