Wait for Z68 or jump on a P67 Sabertooth for $154? - Page 4

Well I waited to swap my B2 board specifically so I could grab a Z68. Not because I plan to use SSD caching and not that I do a ton of video encoding. If anything, my decision is based on hopes that they would iron out any remaining quirks from the P67 B2 and B3 chipsets.

Track, why are you and others so against Z68? And why do you call it a scam?! You haven't made a logical argument and it just makes you sound bitter because you already dumped $320+ into a P67 board that's no longer going to be the latest and greatest as of Wednesday.

It's not like Intel expects anybody to ditch their P67 and buy a Z68. If anything, P67 is the scam! You essentially payed for a GPU when you bought your CPU and yet P67 is keeping you from using it! Meanwhile, the majority of Z68 boards will allow seamless switching from discrete graphics to the onboard GPU when graphics demand is low. Not to mention Z68 will transcode videos faster and allow you to "strap a SSD to an HDD's butt" if you want to. My question is why would anybody buy a P67 board once Z68 is available?

He's trolling. Enough said. Every thread he participates in seems to turn into a flame war.

The recording market is one example I can think of where people would benefit from overclocking the CPU as much as possible with on board video.

No use. There's no changing your mind. I told you exactly why I wanted Z68 in the board list thread, and how I planned to use each of it's three features, and all you could do was argue against it, like it meant something. I'm not spending extra money on a product to win an argument, I'm doing it because it's worth it to me

I'm loving my Sabertooth but if you need the use of the IGP then your choice is clear...

if z68 and p67 were the same price, and you will be using a Radeon 4850 video card and HDDs (not SSD), which platform would you get? remember, it's for the same price

No not at all, z68 should have been debuted with sandy bridge chips not the h67 and p67. Intel failed to deliver z68 on time so they outed h67 and p67 and created a huge bug that resulted in a recall
