Wait for Z68 or jump on a P67 Sabertooth for $154? - Page 5

Word on the grapevine is P67 will be phased out when Z68 hits the market...

Expect some P67 discounts in the coming months...

i might be interested in the sabertooth if you wanted to sell it.

that said, i don't see a point to z68 unless you happen to have a tiny ssd lying around already and/or transcode a lot of video. if i were you, i'd build up the sabertooth. since i'm not you, i think you should sell the board to me.

in all seriousness, the sabertooth seems to be a pretty good board (although you may want to take the silly plastic shroud off), and you got a good price on it. why obsess over waiting for xyz new gadget?

The way i see it is if I can use the IGP and have the discrete card pretty much off when only doing 2d stuff I would get it. Also I kinda like the SSD cache idea because if you currently can only afford a 40gb SSD thats heller fast. And your Os installation plus all your apps is more then what the SSD can hold. It will benifit the OS, just like having a SSD only OS drive expect for loading windows it self.

dear asus,

if you're going to put a fashion accessory on the board, at least make sure it doesn't negatively affect reliability.

thanks,
consumer
