Watercooling advice needed for i7 - Page 3

i'd hate to say it but you get more bang for the buck with the xspc kits

amiright? the rs360 would be cheaper also, and at least in the U.S the rx360 is that price

Looks to be ok. I would not use the fluid that it comes with. Just use distilled water and a kill coil. UV fluid and dye fluids tend to gunk up your blocks and kill the life of your pumps.

yes... and if you could find the rx version which should be around the same price as the ek kit... it will have a alot better rad for future block upgrades... a 240mm rad won't be as effective in cooling a vga/cpu/nb/sb loop

Does that even fit in the CM 690 II?

oh... sorry i didn't look at the case you were going to be using...

if it doesn't fit inside... it comes with a mounting kit so you can place it outside of your case... does your case have water cooling grommets?

EDIT: just checked... it does so you should be fine for an external mount

EDIT2: the ek kit you were looking at is fine... but if you want to add waterblocks for vga/nb/sb and cpu you will need to get a better rad, or add a second rad to your loop

I can't speak about the ek kit but the rasa kit is awesome. The only thing you need to do is upgrade the tubing because I have read that the tubing turns brown. I upgraded mine when I ordered my kit so I can't speak from experience but the tubing I upgraded to smells better and feels better. The tubing that came with the kit smelled really freaking bad, lol...

You are going to want to have large ID tubing. And a pump that can do at least 800L/hour. When it comes to the reservoir you will have 2 options.

1) 240+240 with push/pull and ~700-1000ml of fluid.
2) 240+360 with push/pull and ~300-500ml of fluid.
