help me to know if I have affected intel series 6!

I have hp laptop and I read about intel series 6 chipset design error and I need to know if my laptop affected and what should I do ? and if I can't get a new one, what will happen to my hdd hard drive???

If you have just a hard drive and an optical drive, you are fine.

cpu-z will show you if you have a b3 stepping motherboard.
Under the tab Mainboard
and it should say Southbridge then Rev. if it is B3 then you have no problem. if B2 or B1 then you should contact hp to get it replaced for a B3 one.

You most likely have got an affected board.HP, Dell, Acer ect... are selling affected boards on systems where the defective SATA ports will never be used. Most likely your system is one of those systems.

As mentioned above your best bet is to contact HP directly and ask for an answer to be 100% sure!
