Which mobo to choose?

Thread Starter
ASRock P67 EXTREME4 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

or

GIGABYTE GA-P67X-UD3-B3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

I plan on OC'ing a 2500k to at least 4.5ghz, and i don't really care that the asrock has a 3rd pci-e 2.0 slot, but i noticed the gigabyte has 16x/8x while the asrock only has 8x/8x, big difference?

any1? If the performance difference between 8x/8x and 16x/8x is negligible i'd rather get the asrock

To me ASRock looks like more solid board of those two (better CPU power circutry and better MOSFET cooling)..

Also that Gigabyte supprts SLI/CF only in 8x + 8x mode just like ASRock does..

CHEERS..

in reality, the difference between 8x/8x and 16x/8x is very tiny. you wouldnt notice any decrease at all. the only real time full 16x lane PCI-e is used would be pure benchmarking, people that would pay around 200 - 400 dollars on a motherboard. Get the AsRock man, good boards

Agree with KingT, that ASRock looks like the more solid board of the two...
