HELP - PC powers on then turns off

Hi there just finished a new build:

Hiper HPU-4S435 435W PSU
Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3
i5 2500k
4gb ram

Basically i built the machine, then hit the power button, it fired then died then fired then died etc etc

Now my mobo has a 2x4 atx and im using a 1x4 atx input, could this be the problem? would that cause something like this?

My cpu fan flinches but doesnt run, all other fans do run buut they are molex connected.

Please advise.

PS i hear these psu are completely rubbish and unstable? this true?

Kind regards, Counted

Yea that cpu requires an 8-pin because of it's TDP. Step up to a name-brand 550w single 12v+modular PSU for roughly $60-75

Know anyone who would come over with a power supply? that would be your best way to test.

Had the same board and it did the same thing when overclocking it. Didn't have the issue at stock. Updated the bios and although it didn't go away completely it did reduce it significantly. Hope this helps. PS: I dumped it for an asus P8p67 pro
