Upgrade my old rig

I got $150 to play with and I wanted to upgrade my old rig that I gave to my Mom. Here are the main components that are in it....

CPU: Pentium 4 650 3.4ghz with HT (stock clock)
Mobo: MSI MS-7058 915P Chipset
RAM: Kingston 2GB 266.7Mhz
GPU: ATI X1600
PSU: some cheap 450W Okia brand

I would like to keep the mobo as I dont want to have to reformat and resinstall everything on the hard drive again. I dont want to be able to do any hard core gaming on it but I would like to be able to do some photoshop and some gaming. Right now I can open photoshop but it runs extremely slow so its not even worth running right now. As far as games, I can play Age of Empires 2 with no problem and Company of Heroes on normal settings with some lag. I havent tried any newer games and I probably wont (thats why I built my current rig).

The cheaper the better.

Thanks for any help.

You probably need to get a better graphics card and 4 gigs of ram in that thing. Also OC the processor as much as possible.

If I OC then I would need a new cooler for sure. Right now it just has a cheap $20 Corsair cooler with 1 fan on it that I picked up from TigerDirect.com. I was thinking of getting an H50 as there is pretty much no room in the mid tower case (im not sure what brand it is) and it only has room for 4 80mm fans.

Links to upgraded parts would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure you could just OC it. Those P4s could take up to 100C with no issues. If you're going to get a H50, your money would be better spent on a Core2Duo. Getting a H50 is like getting racing tires for your Prius.

what I would do its he get a mobo plus amd phenom 2 x,2 560
That's 100 $ at micro center for both, tgen get ram for 50, still give you 4 gb
The board you get will have inboard video until you save enough money to get a card

I think this is your best bet
