For something like that with a passive GPU cooling unit, you will need to do a ton of tweaking if you want your video to be properly processed on your GPU with 1080p. Took me a few months to get it working perfectly in WMC. I have been too busy to write up a guide recently, but I may get to it soon if you are interested.

really? O.o offloading video processing is that difficult? If you have time, I would love it

has 2 sata slots for up to 4 TB.

sound good?

nice onboard features such as WIFI and bluetooth, comes with a remote. Seems plenty fine to me.

I love it. Will that stream 1080p + DTS-HD MA flawlessly to my receiver even without a GPU? biggrin.gif

I guess that'd be ok, but then it should be a Gentle Typhoon or something similiar!

as far as mobo (those are micro-atx) and CPU i say this again

Like 200-300$, without HDD, Case, or PSU! biggrin.gif

I'm not sure about flaw less streaming, I think thats more dependent on your receiver and how good your wireless network router is or wireless card, but I'm by no means an expert on that.

Atleast this is a dual core cpu that shouldn't have a problem to playback 1080p, so sending over a signal shouldn't be a problem either I suppose.

there is the new E-350 zacate, but I'm not sure if the boards come as feature rich as this? this one would be nice for you because it has little hassle, should be able to easily install something like idk XBMC? and play all your shows and movies. Its fanless so everything should be cool cool.

It is quite difficult because if you are storing multiple mkv files of varying bitrates, you will need to make sure you have them compressed down enough so it doesn't bottleneck the video stream.

The only program that does this flawlessly (which I also use) is the one from Arcsoft. If you plan on doing this totally within WMC using MediaBrowser, you will need to use other programs for the video and audio processing and distribution for flawless use with a remote controller.

Trust me, to get it working in WMC, it will take a lot of work, but thankfully I saved you probably a few weeks of trial and error with multiple codec packs biggrin.gif

Also, honestly, you won't need 4GB of RAM. 2GB is sufficient for a primary WMC box.

Actually, the ASUS one seems to have been pulled from market due to overheating issues.
