9800 GT Eco underclocking itself?

Hey guys! Havent been on in a while
I recently got Crysis 2 and decided I wanted maximum FPS so I decided to Overclock my card...
Found me "Sweet spot", from 550 to 675 on the core clock, 1375 to 1687 on the shader clock, and 900 to 1050 on the memory clock.
Now it will work fine gaming for 2 HOURS, then suddenly the thing drops to 300 core clock, 600 shader, and 100 memory... And the voltage drops from 1 to .95...
Temps dont get above 87 or so...
My build is in sig for full details, or here for main
AMD Phenom II x3 2.8 ghz triple core
4 gb ddr2 1066
zotac 9800gt eco, 512mb GDDR3
500 watt psu
Win 7 x64 Professional...
and 3 case fans...

http://pastie.org/1879139
Here is a log from GPU-Z... The drop doesnt happen until about 50 lines from the bottom... you should see it just go instantly from 675 to 300 at "2011-05-08 12:49:58"... I also had to cut out about an hour of correct readings because the log was too long, if needed I can attach or post FULL log.

Weird thing is, I was playing fine for 2 hours this time before it dropped...
Last time, I played 10 minutes and it happened..
The time before that? As soon as I tried to start the game it dropped... Could hardly navigate menus...

Using MSIAfterburner to OC, and GPU-Z for temp logging BTW...
And using NVidia Forceware 260.99

If you need to know anything else pleeeease do ask!
Thanks in advance, and sorry if this has been answered :O

It underclocks itself because it shows that the card is unstable at those overclocked frequencies.

Place it back to stock frequencies and restart your overclocking again, this time in small increments and test for stability.

I did test for stability... Used ATITool to watch for any artifacts or visual glitches for a few minutes after every increment... I Went up around 15 mhz a time on core clock and 25 on memory... at 700 the Core clock started giving slight artifacts so i bumped down to 675, and with memory at 1100 it actually froze me PC so I bumped down to 1050, and it worked fine... tested on ATI tool for about 5 or 10 minutes, which did 100% gpu usage, and worked fine... so why did it underclock just trying to start up the game, let alone actually start rendering?
Sorry, im not a super pro; Not trying to act like one either, thanks for help .

Needs more volts or less OC.

Or it needs new drivers. What drivers are you running?

NVidia Forceware 260.99
I know there is newer but I didnt feel like downloading because its mostly optimization for 460s and 480s and what not... I can update if needed though

When I had this card I couldn't overclock it at all. It just doesn't have the power supply to overclock with. 10% core overclock is asking a whole lot when it started as an underclocked, underpowered card.

That is true. I totally forgot that the ECO was devoid of any PCI-e power connectors.

I don't think OC'ing will be successful in the long run, OP.

Hmmm, this guy says he OC'd a 9800 Eco (not same brand, but still a 9800 Eco) successfully by increasing voltage to 1.05...
http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/6760...gt-eco-ee.html
Now, I'm not going to lie... I've never increased voltage on a card or CPU or anything ever, so can you give me a little help to increase the voltage on my videocard?
Do I need to mod BIOS or anything, or can it be done straight from MSIAfterburner (it does have that option) and do i have to be really careful with this or anything?

Okay, I read up and couldnt find an option for PCI-E voltage increase in my BIOS... Also read that increasing Chipset voltage may increase PCI-E voltage.
Is this true? If so, is it safe to bump it up just 10mV, then get on windows and see if the card has more volts?
Thanks in advance again.

Well I decided to live life on the edge and go ahead and increase the chipset voltage by the minimum, 50mv... didnt appear to increase my PCI-E volts... Now what?
