Screen flickering on/off

Thread Starter
Hey guys! This is a long shot but I'm having issues with my second monitor, a Viewsonic VX922 19", it started shutting and re-opening itself up every 2 seconds as of today and I hope someone can help me out! I tried to find some infos on the mighty Google but all I could find were reports of people talking about the monitor capacitor when the screen flicker between on/off, the thing is, all of those messages say that the screen goes black, mine does not..! I can clearly see the display for a second before the screen close itself again! Is that possible if it's a capacitor problem? I mean the screen has been shutting and re-opening itself up for the last 15minutes now and I can always see my desktop background and the icons and software that are on that side of the screen. Its an old thing so its quite possible that it's dying in agony but if there is anything I can do to rescue it I'd like to know about it..!
Thanks!

oddly enough, sometimes that helps. I have a friend who repairs monitors (amongst other things) he thinks it could be the power supply.

I think it still could be a capacitor problem and there isn't much harm in checking.

I have a tutorial in my signature if you care to see how to go about this.

Hey sorry I completly forgot about this thread I got so catch up in work lol. Hum, I dont see why it would be a driver problem, I didnt change any of them recently and it was working fine a second then boom screen flicker out of nowhere. I did try to shake it a bit with no change sadly... I guess I'll have to find a minute to check the capacitor, anyway, I was just checking if there could be some really simple thing that would explain everything that you guys might think of, thanks anyway!
