Seasonic X-650 or HALE90 650
NZXT Phantom or a Fractal Design XL
NH-D14
SSD for booting
Rest of the parts
Sleeved cable extensions

Only suggestions.

You want your parts to look nice?

If you have the $£$£$: colour schemes can be easy to stick to it seems. With the AM3+ mobo's coming out - seems to be a lot of black PCB's being produced - you could base your build around that. Black Mobo (good starter point) and then have another colour (or two) running off that.

I would love to redesign myt rig from newer (and coinciding coloured) hardware.

Are we talking monitor(s) too?

For that budget you should be able to do quite well for yourself. Hard to color-coordinate a build without knowing the mobo however.

General suggestions:
Get a good ssd and then a big hdd for storage
Dont waste money on getting any more then 8gb of ram
Get blu ray drive only if you need it
If you are air cooling the silverstone rotated mobo cases are great
