That doesn't look very good for 1600P. So going from dual to quad was only about 50% better as in this review. So the fourth GPU is hardly being used?

[H] has said you can't notice any difference above 4xAA at 1600P either.

Well it seems like a lot of these reviews should be redone now that the first whql driver has been released since launch. Most of them used the 11.3 drivers which weren't even meant for the 6990. I just did a 2560x1600 run max settings with 16xEQ AA enabled and got that score. The proof is right there.

Noise is only if you OC the heck out of it.

Heat? They've got this card to 1Ghz on stock cooling.

Drivers, I wouldn't know about for this card.

Yeah, good to know 11.3 was all they had back then though. 11.3 might of been the first to support 6990. ATi does tend to improve performance months after releases

Actually 11.3 didnt even support it. They quickly release beta 11.4 previews right after but now they whqls are out. heck the 11.5s just came out too now. They are getting on the ball now. I just came from tri sli 280's which were/are awesome cards. No fanboy here.

If it didn't support it, they wouldn't of used it though. They didn't mention having to do any inf hacking to get the 6990s to work. The 11.4beta came out March 8 and the review was posted March 7th before 11.4 existed.

You would be suprised how half a$$ed reviewers can be but I can't blame them really most just arn't as into the details as us enthusiasts and they usually have to do nothing but review all types of hardware. Most just install drivers and run benches.

11.4 preview drivers came out just after launch but for the 6990 specifically. If you would of selected that card and tried to dl drivers them it would take you to the page to dl that 11.4 beta driver.

Looks like 11.3 did support 6990 and on March 8th 11.4 pre-release was released but nothing mentioned about the 6990.
